Abstract.
The article is devoted to the reconstruction of the ideas by M. M. Tareev about a man as a special value, the essence and nature of which are defined not only by the existential, social-historic, but also metaphysical planes of existence. The gnosiological prerequisites of the understanding of a man and life as “incontestable” values by the Russian philosopher are revealed, the criteria are defined, on the basis of which the typology of values was developed by M. M. Tareev.
