Abstract.
The article examines different aspects of the participation of the population of Ingushetia front-line districts in defensive measures and assistance to the field army in the period of Malgobek defensive operation, which was an important component of the Battle of the Caucasus. The author analyzes the role of the population and civil authorities in preparing the defensive positions, organizing the regular functioning of the national economy under the war conditions, supplying the army, forming the moral and psychological unity of the army and the nation.
