Abstract.
The article examines the problems of scenographic solution as an element of choreographic work. The authors provide an analysis of ballet performances based on choreography classics’ works, which allows concluding that the problem of using scene as an expressive means has attracted ballet masters’ interest for a long period. The paper identifies and justifies the necessity for the simultaneous use of horizontal and vertical lines not only in choreography and scenography but also within dance text. The authors argue for the adequacy of using scene as an expressive means while staging choreographic works.
