ANTIQUE IMAGES IN SPANISH ART OF THE XVIII CENTURY

Abstract. Until recently the XVIII century has been researched in art criticism Spanish studies only in the aspect of the creative work of F. Goya. Meanwhile in this epoch significant shifts in Spanish art, to a large extent determining the direction of the development of art later on, take shape. The paper considers the character of the changes of antique images in the Spanish art of the XVIII century. They grow in number, come out openly to palace façades and urban squares, at the same time these images are comprehended in a pointedly Spanish manner in connection with the rise of the national self-consciousness of the Spanish.
