Abstract.
The article explores the place of God in the philosophy of B. N. Chicherin. The distinctive feature of Chicherin’s philosophy was the rethinking of Hegel, a different approach to his conception of the “Absolute coming into being”. Chicherin believed that the Absolute, God is what the spirit aspires to and what it is originally as a source of all matter. Chicherin included the idea of God in his philosophy, which enabled him to change the triad of Hegel to the tetrad and to include Church into the number of public unions. Also, it allowed him to raise the dignity of the human personality to the level, which it did not have in Hegel’s philosophy.
