MORAL DILEMMAS AND CONCEPTUAL CONTRADICTIONS OF THE THEORY OF “JUST WAR”

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the critical analysis of the conception of just war from ethical perspectives. On the basis of the analysis of theoretical positions the author asserts that asymmetric conflicts and humanitarian interventions change completely the ideas of modern wars, which no longer correspond to traditional moral and legal doctrines. It is concluded that the principles of the theory are not satisfactory for limiting military outrages and in order to reduce the level of armed violence new normative regulations and practices are required.
