THE CENTRAL ESTONIAN ARTISTS’ ASSOCIATION IN THE CONTEXT OF THE ESTONIAN ART DEVELOPMENT

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the history of the Central Estonian Artists’ Association. The peculiarities and difficulties of the artistic life of Estonia (1919-1926) are revealed. The problem of the organization of artists, ensuring of the opportunities of artistic education, and the improvement of artistic culture is discussed. The main subject of the study is tasks and possibilities of the formation of a unified artistic association. The novelty of the research is in the study of the history and the analysis of the Central Estonian Artists’ Association, and in the identification of the peculiarities of artistic associations that promote a disclosure in the Estonian art of ideological and moral, educational and aesthetic ideas. The main conclusions of the work concern the essence of the Central Estonian Artists’ Association as an effective tool providing opportunities to create spiritual values ​​and to hold successful large-scale cultural events.
