Abstract.
The article examines the transformation of the folk song genre into the musical song form of folk art during the historical development of national artistic culture. The authors focus on interpreting the status of folk musical song art in different historical periods, analyze in detail the specificity of performance as a key factor of the regional “variability” of the folk song.
