PHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIAL AS AN ASPECT OF ANALYSIS OF SILHOUETTE CHANGES OF WOMEN’S SUITS

Abstract.
In the article the author makes an attempt to analyze documentary sources, where detailed changes in the European S-shaped profile silhouette of women’s suits in Russia during the last three decades of the XIX century and the first decade of the XX century are recorded. The role of accessories in the formation of the profile is partly identified. The most reliable graphic source is photographs of the considered period. The silhouette of the suit, being a symbol of its era, reflects all the nuances of vestimentary fashion associated with the development and activity of the human being.
