Abstract.
The purpose of the article is to identify the essence and originality of the current state of the musical folklore of the Lower Kolyma Chukchi, its background characteristics, and to consider its interaction with other genres of traditional music, mutual influence and interpenetration within the local song tradition. The novelty of the research is in the revelation of pitch, rhythmic, timbre peculiarities within the song genre, their relation and interaction.
