Abstract.
The article describes the first decades of domra performance formation in Ufa. The 1930-1950s is one of the most complicated but at the same time productive periods in the history of domra playing. The paper mentions the most significant amateur and professional groups playing domra. According to the authors, the growth of amateur performance quality is associated with the appearance of the Russian folk instruments orchestra of Rybinsk engine plant in Ufa. The orchestra’s high-level performance promoted the professionalization of this sphere of musical performance in Ufa. The authors describe the contribution of G. V. Shilov - the teacher, member of the four-stringed domra quartet of the Bashkir Radio Committee - in the formation of the first Russian folk instruments academic orchestra in Bashkiria.
