NEURO-ETHICS: PROBLEM OF FREEDOM AND DETERMINISM CORRELATION IN D. DENNETT’S CONCEPTION

Abstract.
The article aims to analyze freedom and determinism in modern neuro-ethics by the example of the works of one of the most influential cognitive scientists D. Dennett. Analyzing his theory the authors identify the key points of his philosophical conception: human actions and their causes are studied from the behavioristic viewpoint, the components of human behaviour are considered meaningful only if they are verifiable by natural sciences. The critical analysis of his works identified methodological and logical errors in D. Dennett’s arguments.
