Abstract.
The article examines issues concerning the adoption of modern philosophical and culturological approaches to cultural landscape definition and focuses on the problem of typologization and peculiarities of different cultural landscapes. Special attention is paid to analyzing international documents regulating the sphere of world cultural and natural heritage protection. In the context of the adopted new paradigm the author describes the basic tendencies associated with urban cultural landscape transformation under the influence of globalization.
