Abstract.
The article deals with the preservation of a kind of Russian cultural heritage - archival film and photo documents. Related to historical and cultural values, protected by the state as historical artefacts and objects of cultural heritage, film and photo materials, as well as other documents of state archives, are subject to eternal storage, which is ensured by their conversion into the digital format. The authors suggest using plastic coatings in preparation of materials with the cellulose basis for digitization for further long-term storage. The method can significantly reduce complexity of adjustment of scanned images in the process of their conversion from the analog format into the digital one.
