ANDROGYNE IDENTITY AS A METHOD OF HUMAN ADAPTATION IN MODERN SOCIETY

Abstract.
In the article the author reveals the essence of the phenomenon of androgyny - the type of gender identity of a person combining both masculine and feminine values, ideals, standards of behavior. In the conditions of transformation of patriarchal relations, the functions of the representatives of the sexes change significantly, which leads to the formation of the androgynous gender worldview expressing interconnection and complementarity of the masculine and feminine peculiarities of a person. Formed on this basis androgyne identity promotes more effective adaptation of men and women in modern society.
