Abstract.
The article focuses on such peculiarity of mythological cognition as associativity. The author examines two key associations constituting the basis of myth and magic action (according to J. G. Frazer) - association of similarity and association of contiguity. The paper describes omens well-known in the modern world, in particular, student omens based on association of similarity and association of contiguity.
