Abstract. The article deals with the problem of the need for actualization of progressive ideas of the feminist and gender thought in the modern society. Due to aggravation of contradictions of economic, cross-cultural, religious, political and social nature in the modern civilization, the process of increasing discrimination against socially vulnerable groups of population, such as women, disabled people, children and the elderly, can be seen. The authors focus on the fact that in the Russian scientific thought this problem is not being given due attention at present.
