CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE PEASANT REBELLION IN TAMBOV PROVINCE (THROUGH THE LENSES OF THE FAMILY’S FATE)

Abstract.
On the basis of memoirs of his family members, the author tries to broaden the notion of causes and consequences of the peasant rebellion in Tambov province in 1920-1921. The events in Tambov region are regarded as a tragedy, which affected the fate of several generations of Tambov people, as a wound that needs recognition and cure. Passages from the memoirs of Gavriil Alekseevich and Elena Timofeevna Boltnevs are published in the author’s version. The son of the rebel calls for reconciliation of the rebellion participants’ descendants.
