MIECZYSŁAW WEINBERG’S OPERAS ON MOSCOW STAGES: FROM IDEA TO INTERPRETATION

Abstract. In the article the analysis of new stage interpretations of the operas by the Soviet and Russian composer Mieczysław Weinberg “The Passenger” and “The Idiot” first presented on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre and Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow in 2017 is conducted. They are the first (“The Passenger”) and the last (“The Idiot”) out of seven operas by Weinberg, whose opera works are little studied. The author focuses on originality of staging decisions in revelation of the composer’s ideas.
