Abstract.
The article presents a general characteristic of archival sources containing information on ethnic Buryatia monasteries. Materials and documents from the archival funds provide deeper knowledge on Buryatia Buddhist culture history, allow reconstructing the past of the mostly destroyed monuments of cultural heritage. Introducing the archival resources into scientific use contributes to studying historical and cultural importance of Buryat datsans.
