Abstract. The topic of adequacy of scientific knowledge of objective reality has a significant place in philosophy. Already the first philosophers formulated the problem of searching for scientific methods of nature cognition. In the modern period, one of the most important stages in human cognitive activity is elimination of subjective factors. This theme is most vividly represented in philosophy of F. Bacon and his criticism of idols of the human mind. At the same time, sophists formulated the idea of relativity of human knowledge even in antiquity. The discussion on existence of unified laws of life is a significant part of philosophical culture. It is supposed that it makes sense to return to the issue of the place and role of the subject in scientific worldview.
