Abstract. The article deals with the research of semantic aspects of the language in philosophy of P. A. Florensky and A. F. Losev, and peculiarities of their philosophical conceptions in understanding of the Divine Word. The authors trace their connection with principles of Imiaslavie (praising the name) and Neoplatonic traditions, through which a new ontological status of linguistic phenolmena is opened. It is concluded that the Russian thinkers’ philosophy of language is associated with the domestic cultural tradition, where the word conveys not only knowledge, but also truth, and sacred essence.
