Abstract.
The purpose of the article is to substantiate specificity of the sociocultural system of the Russian type. The research of the phenomenon of the Russian town in comparison with the European form shows significant differences in principles of their formation and preservation in history. Naturalness-sociality-spirituality in urban space of the Russian centric type is built on the basis of preservation of archaic elements that support its internal and external mechanisms. The author shows how algorithms of its development, specificity of communications, forms of interaction between the center and the periphery were formed in history.
