THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SMALLPOX VACCINATION PRACTICE IN BASHKORTOSTAN IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE XIX CENTURY

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the key problems in the process of implementation of the smallpox vaccination practice in Bashkortostan in the first half of the XIX century. Revealing the main actions in dissemination of this preventive measure, the author draws attention to the peculiarities of the national and confessional composition of the region population, which influenced the general orientation and the features of vaccination against smallpox. The researcher identifies a number of reasons that impeded the successful implementation of smallpox vaccination, and notes that the problem of the occurrence and spread of the smallpox epidemic was not solved.
