Abstract. The article deals with the results of the ethno-archeological studies of ceramics from the Neolithic - Middle Ages monuments in the south of the Russian Far East. The quantitative assessment of ceramic complexes and their spatial distribution in cultural sediments of settlements and towns are proposed. The main directions of ethno-archeological research in the field of ceramics study are considered. The possibilities of an ethno-archeological approach to the study of ceramics from archaeological sites of ancient and medieval settlements are estimated.
