SELFHOOD AS ENTELECHY OF SELF-FULFILLMENT

Abstract.
In the article the results of the study of the selfhood in the methodological framework of Aristotle’s teleology are presented. The author considers the selfhood as entelechy of self-fulfillment. Revealing etymologically the notion of entelechy, the functions and characteristics of the selfhood as eidos, as a source of self-movement, as blessing are identified successively. Such functions of the selfhood as teleological, regenerative, facilitation, and value-orientation are singled out and grounded. In the work the arguments in favor of considering the selfhood as a basis for the subjectness of the individual and the authorship of his/her own life project are given.
