Abstract.
The article deals with the organization and directions of the activity of the resettlement administration within the territorial boundaries of Semipalatinsk region at the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century. In order to prevent the chaos and disorders in the region, in the conditions of a large influx of resettlers to the Steppes region, the resettlement administration carried out a large-scale work. They provided agronomic, medical, veterinary, food aid to newly settled people, promoted actively the cultural and economic arrangement of the resettlers and supported them spiritually and morally.
