PREPARATION AND CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WORKERS’ DAY IN THE FAR EAST OF THE USSR IN THE 1930S AS AN IMPORTANT PART OF POLITICAL-IDEOLOGICAL WORK

Abstract.
On the basis of the archival materials, the process of preparation and celebration in the Far East of the USSR in the 1930s of one of the main Soviet holidays - International Workers’ Day (May 1st) is analyzed. The holiday is considered as an integral part of the overall political-ideological and psychological treatment of the population of the region. The main forms and types of political-ideological preparatory and organizational activity of the local party leadership are revealed, the achievements and the shortcomings are described, and the festive events in the towns and the districts of the Far East are also characterized.
