Abstract. The article examines the problems of composer’s implementation of liturgical and vocal structure of spiritual musical compositions by the example of the All-night Vigil psalm “Bless the Lord, O My Soul!” in the creative work of the modern composers G. P. Dmitriev, V. A. Uspensky, M. S. Simakov. Unlike the creative work of pre-revolutionary composers, the compositions of the turn of the XX-XXI centuries follow the liturgical structure of the psalm and the principles of form-generation adopted in the West European musical tradition.
