ISLAM AND THE WORLD VIEW OF THE BASHKIR ETHNOS

Abstract.
The article deals with the influence of Islam on the evolution of the world view of the Bashkir ethnos. The adoption of Islam by the Bashkirs led to the complication of the social structure of the Bashkir ethnos, to the formation of close cultural ties with the Muslim peoples. The peculiarity of the Bashkir Islam is determined by the desire to remove contradictions between ethnic traditions, customs and Islamic canons. Since the XIV century the Bashkirs get acquainted with Sufism, the ideas of which were close to the ideological principles of the Bashkir ethnos with its aspiration for freedom and spiritual autonomy. Through Islam the Bashkir ethnos enters history, penetrates the Muslim civilization.
