USING THE DIRECT LINE IN THE DESIGN OF RATIONALISTIC ARCHITECTURE

Abstract.
The article considers for the first time the importance of a straight line in the architectural decor of rationalism of the Soviet period. Rationalism is one of the ancient philosophical knowledge of mankind. It helps to streamline thinking, meaning, and action. His ideas are expressed in the design of architectural forms through the use of a straight line, which gives the buildings aesthetics, emphasizes the beauty and perfection of the forms. The legacy of the ASNOVA (Association of New Architects) group and creative findings in this direction by L. N. Pavlov in the 60-80s of the XX century are considered.
