ULTRAGRAPHY AND SYMBOLIC IMAGES IN THE CREATIVE WORK OF A. AMELIN-IAKHIN

Abstract.
The article considers the attempt of artist A. Amelin-Iakhin to use luminescent paints in easel painting, the luminous effect of which is manifested only when exposed to an ultraviolet lamp. The essence of this technique is reduced to the creation of two “parallel” images on one picture plane, which allows expanding significantly the imagery-semantic range of the work. The author proposes the term “ultragraphy” to refer to this technique.
