KNOWLEDGE AND FREEDOM AS THE BASIC CONCEPTION OF B. SPINOZA’S “ETHICS”

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the comprehension of the logos of anthropocentric freedom, which receives its expression in the metaphysical system of B. Spinoza. It is shown that the question of freedom in New European metaphysics testifies to the purely metaphysical status of the problem, where freedom cannot be reduced to freedom of will and choice. Understanding of substantiality of human thinking in Spinoza’s system is elucidated. The methodology of Spinoza, relating to overcoming sensory-emotional states (the negative aspect of understanding freedom), is analyzed. On the basis of the conducted research the author shows that metaphysics turns out to be ethics, in which it is justified that human activity is of key importance for cognition, where knowledge is freedom.
