DESIGN IN THE POST-INDUSTRIAL ERA: THE ETHICAL IN THE AESTHETIC

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the 110th anniversary of technical design. Design, which at its very origins belonged to the human being in the material world and the world of the ideal, always preceded the level of society development. According to the author, the main idea of the design thought is a harmonious compromise between usability, external framing and internal content. In design, a person realizes his/her superbiological program, but at the same time tries constantly to repeat something created by the environment and realizes the idea of the unity of truth, beauty and goodness even in engineering. The novelty of the work is that the author tries to raise the question: whether there can be a moral (or immoral) design decision.
