CONTENT AND THE MAIN FEATURES OF STOLYPIN AGRARIAN REFORM IMPLEMENTATION IN SARATOV PROVINCE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract.
The relevance of the topic is conditioned by the demand for the domestic experience of agricultural reforms in the conditions of the current modernization of the Russian village. On the basis of the archival documents analysis, the local factors and features of the agrarian reform implementation in Saratov province are studied. The reasons of resistance to its realization from various layers of Saratov peasantry are investigated. They include the weakness of the administrative apparatus, the lack of the consideration of the peasants’ specific needs, the arbitrariness of the local authorities and the conservative way of life of the rural communities’ members. Finally, the author draws conclusion about the contradictory results of the agrarian reform in the conditions of Saratov province at the beginning of the XX century.
