Abstract. The article analyses the activity of Persia Committee (the British parliamentary body aimed to preserve Persia’s independence and going to change the British policy towards Russia and Persia) in 1908-1913. The author identifies the attitude of the Committee members to various aspects of the Anglo-Russian conflict on the Persian issue, to Russia as an opponent, to Persia as a victim of colonial expansion. The paper considers the influence of parliamentary committees and non-parliamentary public associations on the formation of the British foreign policy at the beginning of the XX century.
