Abstract.
The article is devoted to the dramatic analysis of “MASS” by L. Bernstein. This work is a screen of many facets of the human society clearly highlighting its flaws, reflecting the strengths. However, the central idea of the author was the labelling of total social fragmentation, which grew out of the basis of the countercultural changes of the ХХ century in the USA. In his work, Bernstein points to this problem and calls people to unite, because peace cannot be achieved by the efforts of one, even very motivated person. It is created by the forces of each member of the society.
