Abstract.
The article is devoted to the study of opportunities, conditions and factors of professional activity allowing one to find and realize life-meaning human values. Despite the fact that life meaning is subjective and connected with vocation, it has an objective - moral - meaningful core that provides the value of an individual’s life activity both for him and for the society. Using the example of examining the specific characteristics of a professional soldier’s duty (tensions in combat training, extreme conditions, readiness for self-sacrifice, etc.), the authors show their altruistic requirements as determinants of a person’s life meaning making it possible to realize his personal potential at most. The criterion of moral choice truth is evaluation of history; and it is applicable to activity in any profession.
