Abstract.
The article justifies the relevance of the studies concerning the Hellenistic understanding of Motherland. The author systematizes and analyses the key provisions of the Motherland conception in Hellenistic philosophy, identifies the role of the Hellenistic understanding of Motherland as a development factor of the state and the society. The paper argues that the Hellenistic understanding of Motherland, if extended and clarified, can contribute to solving the challenges facing the mankind under globalization. Particular attention is paid to the fact that the conception of Motherland couldn’t be considered just as a subject of scientific and philosophical discussion, it should form a basis of an individual’s worldview.
