Abstract.
The article examines social policy of Margaret Thatcher’s conservative government in the 1980s. The paper analyses the changes in the national health care system, educational system, social insurance system, describes the outcomes of the conservative government’s social policy determined by objective tendencies of the British society development. The author concludes that realization of Margaret Thatcher’s Cabinet programme purposes was accompanied with problems, which contributed to the crisis of the government’s policy.
