Abstract.
The article considers the problems of interethnic interaction in the wedding rituals of the peoples of the Republic of Mordovia in the comparative aspect. Special attention is paid to identifying common and specific elements in the structure of traditional wedding rituals of the peoples of the Republic of Mordovia in the context of interethnic interaction. Scientific originality of the study involves analysing the evolution of wedding rituals of the peoples of the Republic of Mordovia. The conclusion is made that modern wedding, losing its ethnic colour, evolves towards a common interethnic ritual.
