Abstract.
The article is devoted to identifying impressionistic features in the piano suite “Child’s World” by H. Villa-Lobos. Relevance of the problem is conditioned by the lack of studies on the composer’s creative work in the Russian musicology and by the necessity for typification of impressionistic features in H. Villa-Lobos’s compositions. The first suite “Child’s World” is the earliest manifestation of impressionism style in H. Villa-Lobos’s musical language; it is experimental in some ways. The researcher draws parallels with C. Debussy’s creative work and reveals peculiarities of interaction of the impressionistic and national Brazilian features in H. Villa-Lobos’s piano suite.
