“Art of Thinking” as Autodicy: L. Shestov’s “Philosophy of Tragedy”

Abstract.
The article analyses tragedy of human life through the lenses of philosophical and esthetical autodicy. The problem of self-justification (autodicy) is closely associated with the basic existentials, and philosophical reflection in its esthetical and axiological aspect (art of thinking) presupposes recognition and justification of substantial elements of human existence, which constitute “philosophy of tragedy”. Through “art of thinking” a human understands tragic depths of existence and creates unique autodicy of his life.
