Abstract.
The article examines cultural and philosophical problems of genesis and propagation of feminist moods in the Russian province of the beginning of the XX century. Women’s emancipation is a strikingly indicative process, which involves confrontation of conservative and modernistic values that determine spiritual content of the past and modern epochs. Publications of “Vologda Provincial Bulletin”, “Russian North” and “Northern Time” newspapers are for the first time introduced into scientific circulation. The research objective includes analysing the provincial modus of the feminism phenomenon by the example of the regional Vologda press.
