Existential Choice of an Ethno-Modernist Human in the Yakut Theatrical Aesthetics

Abstract.
The article considers ontology and philosophy of ethnic culture, existential choice of a human who assimilates the European modernistic approaches. National theatre makes it possible to predict and simulate this choice. The paper focuses on studying the creative work of Sergey Stanislavovich Potapov, a representative of the new wave of the Yakut stage directors. The region’s sociocultural needs are revealed, their realization through theatrical means is described; stylistic peculiarities of stage direction are identified. For the first time the paper provides a survey of the stage director’s style that determines the personages’ existential choice.
