Abstract.
The article identifies specificity of piano schools of Europe and Russia. The French, Russian, German and English piano schools were chosen as objects of the research. Such aspects as performing technique, sound, aesthetics, repertoire, musical instruments were identified and analysed. The study is based on the analysis of the existing literature on each of the piano schools for the most complete distinguishing of their characteristics.
