Abstract.
The aim of the article is to trace the history of guitar art development and its current state in the province. The scientific novelty lies in the consideration of the classical guitar art development in Saratov, because it has some features and at the same time is quite typical for the provincial cities of Russia. As a result of the study, the author comes to the conclusion that the activities carried out by the Ministry of Culture of the Saratov region aimed at supporting education in the field of culture and art in the region do not fully solve the problem of the lack of qualified guitar teachers.
