Abstract. The reviewed book highlights the main stages in the development of Soviet historical science in 1917-1991. The author pays special attention to the activities of Soviet historians who were engaged not only in historical research, but also in popularization of its results. The monograph will be useful to anyone interested in the history of Soviet culture, the most important component of which is historical science.
