Abstract.
The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the philosophical views of Jacques Derrida and John Searle, whose ideas had a significant impact on philosophy, linguistics and social sciences. The aim of the study is to identify key conceptual differences between Derrida’s deconstructivism and Searle’s theory of speech acts. This paper analyzes the methodological approaches of philosophers, paying special attention to the controversy about intentionality, iterability and the role of context in language. The scientific novelty lies in the comprehensive consideration of the influence of Derrida’s philosophy on modern humanitarian disciplines and the actualization of Searle’s ideas in the context of postmodern reflection. As a result, the work highlights the importance of the dialogue between the analytical and continental traditions, as well as their influence on the development of modern language theory.
