Abstract.
The aim of the research is the substantiation of "axiology of suffering" as a significant phenomenon of modern philosophical anthropology. As a substantive aspect, it is shown that V. Frankl and M. Scheler act as referents in solving the problem of human existence as tragic and "suffering," and as a formal aspect, it is presented that thinkers gravitate towards an imperative form of presenting ideas. The scientific novelty of the research lies in highlighting aspects of human existence: suffering, the tragic, pain, through the prism of modern pathodicy (justification of human passions). As a result, it is proven that "axiology of suffering" is a crucial concept that allows for fully articulating the intrinsic value and significance of a person, contributing to the creation of a holistic concept of personality in modern anthropologico-axiological theorizing.
